The Official Volleyball: Adult Club

So I'm not going to coach this year. I'm playing. I've enrolled in an Adult Competitive Club Volleyball. So much as to say, I'm about ten years late, but what the heck. Hopefully this is where old man skills can overcome youthful spirit.

So fare two practices have come and gone by and I really need to retrain myself. I need to get use to seeing balls coming in fast and get my D's up spikes and passing on par on the serve receive. I feel my feet moving slow. My legs weak. My arms a little uncoordinated. My hit timing off. For some odd reason, my jump serve seems to be dead on...weird.

Follow Me Fishermen

So we spent the Memorial weekend on a sudden unexpected trip to Iowa to fish the Des Moines River for a chance to catch some wipers. Ho hum, not that we were really gonna catch them, I know that much but to not be so negative about it, I'll be trying out my new Shimano system: Calcutta 7' med. fast paired with a Stella 2500 and 8 lb Fireline Crystal.

The white bass hit hard and pulled very hard. The river was raging with very fast current too, making it difficult to fish. All I see are a lot of fishermen/women mostly asians and from the conversations many were Hmong no doubt. One guy got a 20 inch wiper.

From the online journals of PH

The Last Hero will retire his single-hood in just a few more days. It's time to put the mask and cape away, oops just the mask but didn't have a cape in the first place. So the days of saving the world and aiding all those maids and damsels in distress are gonna be over. There's only one lady for this hero.

It the real deal. A marriage to be. An engagement for life. Love will be what hope wants it to be.

A heroine spoke with kindness these words
Told the LastHero to sheath all his swords
All the pulling and yanking, pushing and shoving
Finding someone to do this with all the loving

Home stretch

I'm on the home stretch for this school year. In two weeks, I'll be at the beginning of a new journey. New adventures. New risks. It should be fun. Ohio should be lots of fun, with my whole family together for that one weekend. Can't wait for that!

But first things first. I need to finish these two papers. Study Hebrew for the final exam (not looking good). Take care of some business, and I should be good for the summer. The key is to survive these next two weeks without any nervous breakdowns.

I need your peace, God.

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplicat

the mother-in-law....

Well I spent my spring break at my sister's house... before I left my husband told his mother... and she started saying a whole bunch of thigns... like.."if you take nyab be careful she will run away from you"... or "don't let her stay with her sister who is with the white guy.. she will tell nyab to run off.." I got mad and I told her that my sisters weren't like what she said.. and her reply was " oh.. kuv lam hais xwb os".. but then whatever.. I hate it how she says a whole bunch of crap and then tell me that she wasn't implying it to anyone.. Now I know why her children don't listen to her..

Ghosts, miracles, and other fun

What is a ghost? My understanding of ghosts came directly from my culture. A ghost is usually invisible. It sees everything that happens in the visible world and can interact with the visible world. However, there are rules that it must follow. A ghost can be good or evil. It can be scary or nice. It can help a person, or it can bring destruction upon a person. God is a super-ghost. God does everything that a ghost can do, but more. Whereas a ghost is limited to certain places, God can travel vast distances very fast and be almost anywhere at once. God can read our thoughts. God can control nature. God can do a lot of things, but chooses not to most of the time. Instead, God sits on his high throne in heaven, and only comes down occasionally. This was one of my earliest images of God.
